This table tent matches our Wedding Heart Rice Bag. A great idea if you want to coordinate a design for a particular event or occasion! It can be used for place cards or you can design it with a photo of the special guests and put one or two on each table to commemorate the special day!
MATERIALS
110 lb. card stock (or the heaviest your printer will handle)
Scissors or paper trimmer
Blank business cards (optional time saver)
Glue stick
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Open a blank page in your graphics program in portrait orientation. Draw a rectangle that measures 4 1/4" wide by 7 1/2" high with no fill (or fill it with the color of your choice if you would like to match the décor) and a light gray outline. Center this rectangle on the page. Save the file.
2) Draw a smaller rectangle that measures 3" by 13/16" (or .83 inches) also with no fill and a light gray outline. Place this rectangle at the top of the larger rectangle so that half of it is above the larger rectangle outline and half of it is below. (See illustration below.) Center this rectangle horizontally ONLY! Copy and paste and move the second smaller rectangle to the bottom edge of the larger rectangle. Place it the same way you did the one on the top and also center it horizontally. These smaller rectangles will be the parts you cut out to make the "legs" on your table tent.
3) Draw a horizontal line in the same gray as your rectangle outlines and center it on the page. This will be the fold line for your table tent.
4) Group the line and all the rectangles and save the file once again.
5) Now you can add your clipart and text. The bottom portion of the page will be the front of the table tent, so make sure this is the half on which you place your text.
6) Save the file. Print out on card stock and cut it out. Don't forget to cut around the smaller rectangles to make those "legs".
7) Fold the table tent at the center line.
8) Take a blank business card (or cut a piece of card stock 2" X 3 1/5"). Fold lengthwise about a 1/4" in from each edge. Apply glue to the folded edges and place the business card inside the bottom of the table tent. Center it as best you can and press to adhere to the front and back of the table tent. This will stabilize the tent so it won't "lie down on the job" halfway through your event!
Another professional looking project that will have folks asking who your designer is! And won't you be thrilled to answer "Me!"
