You already know how much fun our Inkjet Shrink Sheets can be! But did you know you can use them to make some wonderful personalized nightlights? They're perfect for making a “cover” for our nightlight kits. Ours shows a heart flag design, but the possibilities are endless! Make holiday nightlights by using pumpkin clipart for Halloween, any clipart for other holidays, or even personalize the nightlight by using a photo of a loved one. What a great gift idea! Also a great favor for a shower!
MATERIALS:
Inkjet shrink sheets
Nightlight kit
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Open a blank page in your graphics program. For our heart flag we opened the page in landscape orientation, but your layout will depend upon the clipart design you are using.
2) Design your nightlight cover. Stretch it to fill the page since the design will shrink to about 1/3 the size after baking.
3) Print on plain paper to make sure you are satisfied with the design.
4) Once you are happy with the layout, print on a shrink sheet according to the included instructions. Let the sheet dry for about 10 minutes, cut it out and bake according to instructions.
5) Once the baked shrink sheet design has cooled, use double stick tape or glue to apply the piece to the collar of the nightlight with the printed side (duller) facing the back.
It’s that simple! And we’ll bet that when friends and family see your creation, they’ll all want one!
