Personalized Tree Ornament

These china ornaments are 2 1/2" in diameter and have a flat face on one side to accept decoration.You can print a photo or other design on our waterslip decals or use inkjet printer labels or other fun papers (how about our Glow Paper or Fuzzy Paper?) to personalize them! The holidays may still be a few months away, but it's never to early to start those special holiday gifts! (We're even doing this one for a client with a pet tarantula!)

MATERIALS NEEDED

Flat-face china ornament (see Products>China Tree Ornaments)

Waterslip decals and finishing spray or other inkjet medium

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Open you graphics program and design the art that will go on to your ornament. Resize the artwork to 1.78 inches X 1.78 inches so that it will fit properly into the flattened area on the front of the ornament.

2) Print on plain paper, cut out and make sure it will fit before printing on your final choice of medium.

3) Once you have the correct size and fit, print your design on the paper you are going to use.Waterslip decals will give your ornament that professionally finished look, but you can also use other papers such as photo (adhesive or plain), fuzzy paper, glow paper, or just about any paper your inkjet will handle. For papers other than the waterslip decals, simply use a glue stick to attach the artwork to the face of the ornament.

4) If you choose to use the waterslip decals, print your design on the decal. Allow to dry for at least ten minutes and then apply two to three coats (not too heavy!) of the decal finishing spray in a well-ventilated area. Allow the spray to dry between coats for at least an hour.

5) Once the decal spray is thoroughly dry, cut out your design (try to leave a tiny border around the edges to prevent any ink from running once they are soaked.)

6) Soak the decal in room temperature water for about 10-15 seconds and shake it out gently. Hold the decal over the ornament and GENTLY slide the backing off from the back of the decal, slipping the decal onto the ornament. 7) Position the decal and GENTLY blot with a soft paper towel or lintless facial tissue. Any small bubbles should disappear as the decal dries.

8) Place the ornament somewhere where you can support it so that the decal remains face up to dry (a paper cup works well for this.) Dry for a few hours (overnight is best) before attaching an ornament hook and you have a personalized holiday tree ornament you can be proud of!

NOTE: If you use inkjet medium other than the waterslip decals and you want to make certain your ornament will last for years, spray your design with our Waterproofing spray prior to cutting it out!
