Notepad Clamp

Making this clamp is easy if you have a hand saw and a power drill (or a friend who has them!)

MATERIALS NEEDED

A piece of wood 2 feet long, 3/8" thick X 1 1/2" wide (we use pine, but you can use a harder wood to prevent bending if you make very thick notepads.)

2 stainless steel or galvanized bolts 1/4 " X 2" long (longer if you will be making very thick notepads.)

2 stainless steel or galvanized 1/4" wing nuts

Hand saw

Power drill

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Cut the wood into two 12 inch pieces.

2) Sand all the edges of the two pieces of wood until they are smooth.

3) Mark a point one inch in from each end of one piece of wood. Place the two pieces together and drill a hole wide enough to accommodate the 1/4 " bolt through both pieces at the marked points.

4) Place the bolts through the holes so that the two pieces of wood are sandwiched together. Attach the wing nuts to the bottom of the bolts.

You now have a pad clamp! Simply loosen the wing nuts, pull the two pieces of wood apart, insert your notepad and tighten the wing nuts so that the two pieces of wood are tight against the pad. Remember to leave a little of the top edge of the pad sticking out so you can apply the padding adhesive easily.
