Hologlitter Mini Bag

This cool little bag is made from our glitter holographic paper using the template from our Luminaria project. The front of the bag is decorated with “conversation hearts” printed on the glitter paper and then glued to the front of the bag. You can also cut the hearts from Funky Film, if you don’t want any text on them, and simply peel and stick the hearts to the bag. Great for use as a favor bag for a Valentine’s party or for that small, special gift for your secret Valentine!

MATERIALS

Glitter holographic paper (see our Products> Fun Papers section)

Funky Film (optional)

Glue or glue stick

Luminaria project template (see link below)

Scissors

Pencil with eraser

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Open a blank page in your graphics program in landscape orientation. Import the luminaria template by right-clicking on it and selecting “Save Picture As…”. Save the template to the directory of your choice in either .BMP or .GIF format.

2) Place the luminaria template on your blank page and resize the template to fit the entire page (watch out for those unprintable margins!)

3) Print the template on the BACK side of the glitter paper (it’s easier to see the cutting and folding lines this way.)

4) Open another blank page and place some hearts on it. Fill with the colors of your choice and add text if desired. We used various shades of red and pink for ours.

5) Print out a test sheet and cut out the hearts to make certain the sizing is correct for the bag.

6) Once you are satisfied with the hearts, print them out on another sheet of glitter paper. Set the printer to Best or Photo Quality for the best output, Allow this sheet to dry for a few minutes to keep the ink from smudging when you cut out the hearts.

7) Cut out the bag along the outside lines. Cut out the hearts and glue them to the front and back of the bag surface.

8) Fold all tabs on the bag and put the bag together using glue or a glue stick. Use the eraser end of a pencil to press down from the inside of the bag to secure all the tabs on the bottom of the bag. (See our Luminaria project for more in-depth instructions on putting the bag together if you get stuck on this step.)

That’s all there is to it! A lovely little remembrance of this special holiday for your special someone!
